A meeting with Los Angeles County Supervisor…

Today, we had a meeting with Los Angeles County Supervisor Holly J. Mitchell’s office, her representative Ramses E. Mayorga Jr. spoke on her behalf. In the meeting, we offered to support Koreatown and the university area as part of our proposal to her district. They presented us with a new opportunity to partner directly with Supervisor Holly Mitchell to provide resources to Service Plan Area 2 unincorporated because this area has no town hall, city hall or any structured resources. If we agree to support this community then her office will finance our efforts and supply us all needed resources to provide to the public. This would allow us to work directly with the director of Los Angeles County housing authority. We accepted their offer and await their final approval. I will keep you updated on our overall progress as well as our targeted area of operations. Angie will have full authority to continue overseeing Community Crisis Center in service plan Area 3 and 4. In service plan area 3 ( San Gabriel Valley) & 4 ( Downtown LA) everything is still operating well thanks to Angie, Rosa, Liz, and Sabrina’s dedication towards fighting hunger. Lizbeth (Liz), one of our head volunteers, was able to create a partner nonprofit organization called Flores Pantry (fp). We recently signed an agreement with the Los Angeles Unified School District to receive or rescue food from all of their local schools. This food will be distributed to the public by fp on our behalf. FP is in their final stage of receiving their own 501C3 but is currently still operating under our umbrella. If difficulties arise from this program, then Angie has authority to terminate it if needed in order to keep the integrity of Community Crisis Center in service plan areas 3 and 4. Our organization was accepted in the Incubation Academy that is offered by the Justice Care and Opportunities Department. They provide training to organizations seeking growth towards employment and they are helping to reform the justice system in Los Angeles County. We believe that this training will allow us to manage our long-term financial responsibilities with our investors. Thanks for your love and support all these years. Please reach out to me if there’s any questions.
